Theological Training

The remaining of the three original needs in Rural China we identified in 2002, Theological Training in Rural China, continues to be a vast sea of need. Over the last 11 years, we’ve tried several ways to meet this need and each time we’ve struggled to find an effective model. We are proposing to find a way to meet the need in a 21st century way, through online, streamed courses. Chinese President Xi Jinping just announced at the December 2015 World Internet Conference a China-wide initiative called “Last Kilometer Network Infrastructure,” making basic broadband (20MB/s) internet available to every village in rural China. The National government is going to spend $22 Billion U.S. and I think we need to be ready with online course content, taught by Chinese pastors and coupled with online, printable instructors and student guides.

The highlights of this method of training, is that these courses will fit the training guidelines given to us by rural Chinese leaders, stored on a Chinese server, available on demand with a free subscription and available at rural training Centers, some already in existence, and some that we will help create. This model will also be easily reproducible in other countries! This truly is a Great Commission project as we trust God to use us to help the Chinese Church become deeper in their theological knowledge and increase their ability to reach their own country for Christ!
